Kay, here we go, the first chapter. Give me some credit here, I am going on a nearly origenal plot here, and it will take some time for it to fully pan out, but I got a good feeling with this one.
Keep in mind, that I as usual, really don't feel like going through spell check at this time, and if it is good enough, and it makes its way to fanfiction.net, then I will clean it up as I always do... so, here you go in the next post...

DEATH NOTE:
A NEW CHAPTER…

CHAPTER 1:

The world of the Shinigami was dying. There was no denying that. In fact, every Shinigami was aware of it. Just now it was a matter of time until they just seased to exist. That was one of the thoughts on Ryuk’ss mind these days. What would it be like, painless? Or would they just fade in to nothingness?
Ryuk stood on a cliff face high above the baren landsvcape of the Realm of Death, apple in one hand, and his Death Note in the other. He was board as he usually was. And, as usual, he was to lazy too go hunting for more years. Besides, he had a good four hundred or so to go before he even had to think about more life. Would he even have four hundred years?
“Stop it,” he snapped at himself. “Your just board. Just eat your damn apple and not think about it.”
To Ryuk, apples were like cigarets or alkahol to humans. Addictave, and a vice. If he didn’t have them regularly, he even went in to withdraw symtems. But lately, even they didn’t stop his pondering. He wondered about the others, did they feel the same as he? Or did they just live there lives in dull boardem?
“Should have helped Light when I had the chance. Yeh it would have been bad afterwards, but he was a hell of a lot more entertaining then this place.” He muttered to himself as he chompped down on yet another apple. It was at this point that he realized that this was his last one, and there were no other ways to get them other than traveling to the Human Realm.
Ryuk went back to his ponderings as he staired at nothing in particular, not that there was much to see that is. The Shinigami Realm wasn’t pretty. Mainly dull, baren landscapes, wich had nothing but large clifs and huge rocks to divide the plains. The skys were always either grey and blank, or red with black clouds scattered like dark stains on a fine layor of cloth. But, there was nothing fine about this place.
The only passible excuse of a building here however, was the Lords Pallis, wich stood on the highest cliff in the realm. Huge, and white as the bones used in its construction, the pallis looked more like a graveyard above ground, berces a pallis fit for royalty. The King who lived there was what most called the God of Death, or at least that was how human mythology illustrated him.
No one knew his name, they just knew he was the boss, and that was how it was. Not the easiest to trick, but Ryuk had done it a few times. One time, he had even managed to snag another Death Note, wich he used for amuzement with the humans. He had heard that the King bent well enough to being brived with apples, but who could blame him there. After all, they were so juicey, and red, and he wanted one now for thinking about them.
Just as Ryuk was about to submit to his withdraws, he realized that he wasn’t alone. Turning to face the one he senced standing behind him, Ryuk was surprised to see Gengi, (A Shinigami with a mean taist for sweets,) standing with her long, spindely arms folded across her barrel chest.
“What do you Want?” Ryuk asked, not showing any hent of desire for the red balls of greatness he could smell on Gengi.
“I want to know about that Light human you got stuck with for those few years.” Gengi said bluntly. Gengi wasn’t known for her manners, or her people skills. She was cold, border line rude, and to Ryuk, the most annoying one of there kind. For a breaf moment, he thought of the possibility of only her vanishing, and sparing there race of the berden of her bothersomeness.
“I Ain’t telling you nothing. Go bother someone else.” Ryuk said dwearally. “Can’t you see I’m busy here?”
“Oe yes Ryuk, you are so busy, how could I have looked passed that.” Gengi said in a defiant toan that implied to Ryuk that she wasn’t going anywhere without her answers.
Gengi sighed at last when Ryuk kepped quiet, “Fine, I have fifteen apples. I’ll give you one now, then you’ll tell me, then you get the rest after your done.” At That, Ryuk was all attention to Gengi. As Gengi handed him the first of the apples, Ryuke realized how easely he sold out for his fix.
“What do you wanna know?” Ryuk asked indignently.
Gengi smiled, a toothey grin that resembled a cave opening with teeth and leaned twards Ryuk. “everything…”

There was nothing, no darkness, no light, no sound. Just unrelenting, blissful peace. No time passed, no thoughts popped in to existence, no mermers of life to be, just nothing. This was all Light Yagami knew. He knew not his name, nor his life in the Human Realm, or even of his own existence. He did not even possess a contienceness, or any means of perception or awareness.
But, there was something there. Something that slowly grew like a small flickering flame feeding on burnable miterials. First it was nothing, but over time, it became a whisper of something to come, and then a presence of something senister. It was like a hand, dark and unyielding.
It grabbed for what little of him there was, and pulled him free of blankness. At once, Light could think, he had thought, and only one. Kira…
Kira? Who or what was that? Then another thought. Death Note? And then, all at once, his existence was punctuated with the sensation of his sences, and all at once, his new body fell from somewhere high up, and landed to the hard ground below with a bone crushing thud…
